So Big Ben struck midnight a few minutes ago, hailing in yet another new year.
Of course, I celebrated it in the fashion that the event deserves. By doing absolutely nothing. In fact, while Big Ben was busy droning on, I was fixated to Channel 5's riveting documentary, 'The World's Most Dangerous Airports'.
The truth is that New Year's Eve is the one night of the year when I most definitely do NOT want to be out on the town.
New Years Eve means absolutely nothing to me. Its just another day, like any other. So the year gets another digit added. Bully for the year!
I'm beginning to suspect that both Christmas Day and New Year's Eve must be the inventions of a brilliant entrepreneur of the likes of Sugar or Trump.
Going out on New Year's Eve is like walking around the centre of any large city with a bag of money wide open and a sign saying, "Free Money!". I'm not going to allow the bars and clubs of this great city to rape me and take advantage of me when essentially the only thing that has changed is a number. I give a big birdie to them all by doing nothing.
So its dangerous airports, tidying my office and writing this blog - that's how I'm celebrating the arrival of 2011.
And a very Happy New Year to you all too! x
