A right royal farce

Its 10:30am and I'm desperately trying to occupy myself without resorting to what the rest of the world seem to be doing right now:  watching two people they don't know get married.

So, I thought it was time I returned to spouting my opinion right here on my blog.

I am anti -monarchist.  I'm not ashamed of it.  I believe that, in this day and age, it is wrong.  I don't hate the British royal family as individuals (although I do think some of them are buffoons), but I disagree in principle with their existence and, most importantly, with the fact that tax-payer's money is used to finance them.

In relation to this wedding,  I just can't help thinking that, in an ideal world, where they weren't treated like zoo animals in a cage by the rest of us, that this is not how they would have liked their wedding to be. A wedding is an intimate affair that you want to share with those who are special and those whom you love. Not with every Tom, Dick, Harry and Royal wannabes like David & Victoria Beckham. This is not a wedding for William and Katie. It is a pantomime and a farce to pander to what the nation and the world expects. Its funny really, people say women in porn are exploited, even though they are compensated financially relatively well for choosing to do what they do. William has no choice. but is compensated extremely well. And yet he has had to suffer as a 'dancing bear' for the world for the whole of his life and will do so until the day he dies. Is this not state-sanctioned exploitation?

I mean, the poor lad lost his mother as an indirect result of the world's desire to stalk her. Have we learned nothing?

JOHNNY ANGLAIS at the launch of LoveLife

You are cordially invited to attend the first ever LoveLife event at Cafe De Paris

JOHNNY ANGLAIS at the launch of LoveLife

Join JOHNNY ANGLAIS as one of his discounted special guests, at the launch of LoveLife, a new Polysexual tea dance in London's swanky Cafe de Paris.

LoveLife London

This May Bank Holiday Sunday, London’s most spectacular party, Lovechild, joins forces with Rome’s infamous superclub, Muccassassina, to bring you LoveLife, a polysexual tea dance to smooth you into May. With EUROPRIDE 2011 scheduled to take over Rome in June, Lovelife is an official Euro-pride pre-party to the huge celebrations planned for this year.

Set in the opulent surroundings of London’s Cafe de Paris, and hosted by the fabulous Fuxia and Simone from Muccassassina, LoveLife promises a sophisticated scene of cocktails and champagne to the accompaniment of cool, breezy vibes served up by Lovechild and Muccassassina resident DJs Tony English and Micky Galliano, with guests Louis K (Island Groove), Patrick Lilley, Gepy, and Brent Nicholls.

Leading the dancing to the glamourfunk sounds will be the voluptuous girls and hunky boys who make up the Lovechild Lovebunnies - costumed and choreographed by Nhamo to jive and jingle before your very eyes.

LoveLife is an official Europride Rome pre-party and promises to be filled with VIPs, Fashionistas and members of the London glitterati. The event will be filmed for MIRRORBALLS.TV so make sure you pick up your early bird tickets to be seen at the scene’s most glamorous spring gathering.

Cafe de Paris, 3-4 Coventry Street, London, W1D 63L

If you are interested in being one of Johnny Anglais' discounted special guests, please email him at johnnyanglais@gmail.com with your name (plus the name of your guest) and mobile phone number.
